Binaural Joy Massage

This video is an experiment in subliminal influence with the intention of evoking joy, play, freedom, etc. The piece was inspired by psychology experiments in which flashing images of sex, food, crack pipes and faces were used by researches to light up certain regions of the brain associated with particular states of mind. I decided to utilize this phenomenon to aid in a guided trance evocation.

I utilized a binaural frequency generator to create tones that are designed to match and influence brain wave patterns conducive to an entranced, clear, and receptive awareness. Binaural frequencies, (and this video), are most effective when played on headphones. This is because the right and left channels of the tones are constant, however, they perceptually interfere with one another to create a specific oscillation of excitation between both hemispheres of the brain.

These frequencies are correlated with strobing colors that further enhance the influence of the binaural phenomenon and the openness to subliminal suggestion. The video uses 60 frames per second, (which is double the normal frame rate), to allow imagery and color oscilations to presicely sync with the audio and maximize their combined effect.
